Since her graduated studies in physics, Dr. De Vecchi has dealt with imaging and automatic detection of specific features in images. She began her research activities on imaging with MSc thesis work concerning the analysis of data collected from aerial radar installed on board of oceanographic platform in the Adriatic Sea and the comparison with acquired data from space shuttle during SRTM mission. With PhD work, Dr. De Vecchi specialized in automatic detection of features/textures presence in satellite images generated from atmospheric phenomena on the sea surface. In these years, she has been worked with atmospheric models, data assimilation and predictability. During her post-doctoral activities, she worked as project manager for the "Advanced remote sensing system to monitor the weather and marine climate conditions and maritime traffic in the Mediterranean Sea" project, sponsored by MIUR and ASI, Lecce University and INNOVA. She awarded a title of Medical Physicist in 2016 and worked in Switzerland as medical physicist at Center of Proton Therapy - Paul Scherrer Institute. She came back to Italy in 2016 and worked at the University of Genoa (Mathematics Applied Department), managed a research project about analysis of CT and PET images of SLA patients. Then, she joined the Prof. Giovanni Solari’s team as temporary researcher associate. Here she deal with the management of large network of different instruments, database, data science, data and statistical analysis.
