Overview EIA11: November 6-10, 2017

The 11th International Symposium on Electrochemical Impedance Analysis (EIA11) is the next link of well established chain of EIA conferences held every three years. This edition in organized by DICCA-University of Genoa and ICMATE-National Research Council - Italy.

Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is a powerful technique for investigating the mechanisms of electrochemical reactions and charge transport properties of various materials in different environments. EIS relates to almost all scientific disciplines, ranging from physical, organic, and analytical chemistry to biology and medicine. EIS registers important contributions in current and innovative fields such as electrocatalysis, corrosion, sensors, dielectrics, semiconductors, as well as in the rapidly growing areas of nanomaterials and nanotechnology, energy conversion, and storage.

The purpose of EIA11 is to provide a common platform for scientists and experts to share knowledge and ideas, to create a friendly environment for fruitful creative discussions on impedance data analysis, which is the crucial step in every electrochemical impedance spectroscopy investigation. Students and junior scientists are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Answering the increasing demands to strengthen the link between theoretical achievements and technological advancement, the 11th edition of EIA opens a forum for discussions on recent developments and new trends in impedance measurement techniques, organizing a session dedicated to equipment producers.

Technical Exhibits

The technical exhibits during EIA11 provide an opportunity for presentations and discussions between producers and users of impedance-related equipment.

EERA Workshop: November 8th, 2017

EIA11 features a workshop of the European Energy Research Alliance: Bridging Experimental and Numerical Research: Development and Optimization of Advanced Characterization Tools Based on Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy.

In frame the EIA symposium, this workshop aims to identify what impedance can contribute to develop advanced characterization, catalyst and experimental validation tests. What is the best of what we are doing now, in which direction should we go to develop, what will be the foreseen challenges to further develop EIS as one of the most powerful techniques to support the experimental validation approaches.

In addition, meeting equipment producers, we can jointly analyze what is the role of Impedance Spectroscopy in Energy Sources Development:

  • Recent Progress in Impedance Instrumentation.
  • Advancing Requirements toward Instruments.
  • D.C. Testing or/and Impedance Spectroscopy.
